  • Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps, led the briefing.
  • Downing St spokesperson has said today that those with Covid-19 antibodies could obtain a Health Certificate but more needs to be understood about immunology.
  • 126.064 test yesterday.
  • 233,151 positive tests, an increase of 3,446 from yesterday.  33,614 deaths, an increase of 428 from yesterday.

Stay alert
We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must:

  • Stay at home as much as possible
  • Work from home if you can
  • Limit contact with other people
  • Keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)
  • Wash your hands regularly

Self-isolate if you or anyone in your household has symptoms.

Schools
Critical workers who can access schools or educational settings
Updated to reflect that children of critical workers are encouraged to attend school, and to reflect plans for wider opening of schools from 1 June, at the earliest. Updated information defining vulnerable children, in line with existing guidance, for the purpose of continued education.
