I am a qualified Solicitor with over 30 years’ experience running a business, managing a team, appearing in the Employment Tribunal and advising on almost every conceivable employment law and HR issue. Clients appreciate my down to earth and straight forward approach that allows them to achieve results and manage their organisation more effectively. I take the worry out of employment law and HR issues with a proactive and robust approach.
HR Business Partner
I am a confident and commercial MCIPD qualified HR Professional with a real passion for the education sector. I joined Cook Lawyers in 2016 and prior to that I spent 7 years providing a HR service to schools and colleges across the Northwest. I build successful long-term relationships with clients and help ensure employment issues are managed effectively and in a timely manner.

I am a qualified Employment Law and HR Solicitor. I specialise in acting for schools and advise on all aspects of employment law and HR including attending employee meetings, advising senior leaders, conducting redundancy consultations, drafting contracts of employment, advising on policies and procedures and negotiating settlement agreements.

I am a HR professional with a strong background in Education, People Management and Operational Management. I am experienced at both a strategic and operational level, with a proven track record of implementing and managing organisational change, increasing employee engagement and performance management.


HR Business Partner
I am an experienced HR professional with 10 years’ experience in the education sector. A Chartered Member of the CIPD, with a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, I have experience in all aspects of education HR management. Previously HR manager in a multi-academy trust, I am a skilled policy writer, and experienced in both strategic and operational HR management. People appreciate my friendly manner and supportive approach to people management, as well as my ability to work positively with senior leaders, staff and unions to achieve positive outcomes.
HR Assistant
I graduated from Lancaster University after finishing my Business Management Degree in 2023 and completed my CIPD Level 5 course in 2024. My role at Cook Lawyers involves supporting employee relations and working closely with our HR team, attending employee meetings, involving sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance. I am eager to learn and passionate about enhancing my skills to specialise in providing HR support in the education sector.
