Pay Policies for Schools 2026/27

Schools are still waiting for publication of the final School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD) 2026, which must complete the statutory process before pay policies can be updated and issued in final form.

Expected Timeline

Date / period	Expected step
23 September 2026	Government consultation on the draft STPCD 2026 closed.
Around 16 October 2026	Any agreed changes are expected to be incorporated and the Teachers’ Pay Order laid before Parliament.
Around 6 November 2026	The 21-day parliamentary period is expected to end, subject to no objection. The Department for Education is expected to publish the final STPCD 2026 around this date.
