New Vento bands from 6 April 2022 for injury to feelings awards

Presidential Guidance on employment tribunal awards for injury to feelings has been issued for claims presented on or after 6^th April 2022. The Addendum outlines the following updates to Vento bands which have been adjusted to take account of the RPI measure of inflation:

• A lower band of £990 to £9,900 for less serious cases.
• A middle band of £9,900 to £29,600 for cases which do not merit an award in the upper band.
• An upper band of £29,600 to £49,300 for the most serious cases.
• Amounts in excess of £49,300 can be awarded in the most exceptional cases.
