James Williams

Main points from today

  • The press conference from the Government on 23rd June was the last of the daily press conferences.
  • We will continue to send out a daily update for at least the next couple of weeks as the number of Gov.uk emails shows no sign of decreasing.
  • Apologies for the error in the 23rd June update that nail bars were re-opening on 4th July.  Wishful thinking on my part!
  • The R number range for the UK is 0.7-0.9 and the growth rate range is -4% to -2% as of 25 June 2020.
  • Driving lessons and theory tests will restart on Saturday 4 July 2020 in England, and car driving tests will restart from Wednesday 22 July 2020.
  • 1,118 confirmed new cases as of 25 June 2020. 43,230 deaths with 149 deaths yesterday.

Guidance on funding available to schools to support them with costs associated with coronavirus (COVID-19).   Updated with added information on the impact of schools’ financial reserves on eligibility for this funding and details of what support schools can access for the loss of self-generated income, as it is not covered by this fund.
